PARENT INFORMATION

Preschool Hours:


●       Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

●       Fridays: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm


Age Requirements:

To enroll, students must be 2, 3, or 4 years old by 12/31 of the current school year.

STUDENT INFORMATION

Student Dress Code:

We encourage students to wear comfortable, washable clothing suitable for preschool activities. As the weather permits, students spend time outdoors in the play yard, so please ensure they wear comfortable shoes. 


  • Boys in Pre-K are encouraged to wear kippot and tzitzit daily.
  • Girls are encouraged to wear dresses or skirts.

Parent Dress Code:

We kindly request that all visitors to our school adhere to appropriate attire guidelines.

  • Men are expected to wear a kippah while on campus.
  • Women should wear knee-length skirts, and their tops should cover their shoulders.


We are confident that these simple guidelines will be observed by our parents, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation and support in maintaining a respectful environment for all.


Meals:

  • Our on-site kosher kitchen provides nutritious and delicious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily. All food brought in by students must have strict Kosher certification. Please note that homemade food cannot be distributed at school events or celebrations.


  • Our primary supplier, Dependable, is an Orthodox Jewish food distributor trusted for providing kosher products to schools, synagogues, and caterers. All their offerings carry reliable supervision from authorities such as OU and Star K.


  • Rest assured, our grain-based products adhere to Yashan guidelines, while baked goods and breads follow Pat Yisrael regulations. Dairy products are exclusively Halab Yisrael, and our meat is sourced from Bet Yosef suppliers. Chicken is procured from Prime Glatt Avenue U. In terms of cooking, all food preparation is conducted according to Bishul Yisrael Sephardi standards.


Allergies:

Please inform teachers of any allergies or dietary restrictions your child has so that they may be accommodated for. Ahi Ezer Yeshiva is a nut-free environment, and we do not serve peanuts, walnuts, pine nuts, cashews, or sesame products. We appreciate your cooperation, especially during birthday parties or other celebrations.


Toilet Training:

Students entering the 2-year-old program are not required to be toilet trained. However, teachers are available to assist families in the process. All other ages are highly encouraged to be toilet trained.


Communication:

Effective parent-teacher communication is crucial for your child's education. Before the school year begins, parents will have opportunities to meet with teachers for an in-depth overview of the classroom, schedules, and expectations. Additionally, each teacher creates a chat group for parents in the classroom, providing daily updates and photos of classroom activities. The Yeshiva also sends periodic newsletters via email, along with important information specific to the preschool.

OUR CURRICULUM

Social Emotional Learning:

Building trust and cultivating relationships within the classroom community are fundamental aspects of social-emotional learning at Ahi Ezer Yeshiva. Students develop friendships and learn appropriate interactions with peers and staff, laying the foundation for a positive learning experience.


Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language:

In our Hebrew language program, students are fully immersed throughout the day in a rich Hebrew environment filled with songs, games, and stories. They engage with authentic tefillah, parasha stories, Shabbat traditions, and the chagim, while also embracing values through daily acts of mitzvot.


Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Authentic Art Experiences:

At Ahi Ezer Yeshiva, our students embark on a journey of exploration and independent discovery through a variety of open-ended activities through our Creative Curriculum.The curriculum is designed to foster development of the whole child through teacher-led, small and large group activities. 


We foster a love for literacy and reading, emphasizing language, vocabulary, comprehension, and the joy of storytelling.


Math concepts are explored through hands-on activities covering counting, patterns, geometry, and data collection, often integrated into center play and experimentation. 


Social studies units delve into diverse topics such as holidays, community, and culture, encouraging students to observe, question, and wonder about the world around them..


Our Science curriculum, inspired by STEAM principles (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), sparks curiosity and creativity through child-led experiments and exploration.



Routines:

Students learn essential classroom routines, including following schedules, managing transitions, taking turns, and sharing. These routines provide a sense of security and enable students to become independent learners, fostering confidence and self-reliance.
